Holy Ghost Fire Apostolic Church (Land Of Mercy)

In the year 1994, Holy Ghost Fire Apostolic Church was founded following the call of God on Prophet / Pastor David Oladejo, a k a Baba White, to leave the city and go to the wilderness where people from all walks of life would come for deliverance from traps of the world.

The book of Prophet Isaiah 61 : 1 was given to him by God as the guiding motto for the ministry. The scripture reads “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the, opening of the prison to those who are bound”. Armed with this scriptural verse, Baba White headed for the then wilderness of Ori Okuta, a suburb of Ikorodu town; Lagos state of Nigeria and planted the Church; Holy Ghost Fire Apostolic Church.

Precisely on November 27, 1994; the first Sunday worship service was held with five (5) persons in attendance: Baba White, his wife; Lady Evangelist R. Oladejo (Mama White), their daughter (Funke), Pastor Daniel (now of blessed memory) and his wife (Mrs. Daniel). That first worship service was conducted in this order:

  • Announcement – Mama White
  • Scriptural lesson – Pastor Daniel
  • Sermon – Baba White
  • Mrs. Daniel – Worshiper
  • Miss Funke David – Worshiper

By the time the church was a year old, it had attracted enough worshippers to call for celebration. The celebration has now metamorphosed into what is now known as the annual convention of the Church. On the first anniversary of the Church; the joy of Baba White would have known no bounds but for his father, Pa Busari Oladejo, that was already no more. This was especially so because every thing about the life of Baba White now had been predicted by his father.

Presently the church which has it’s headquarters at No 1, Holy Ghost Street, Ori Okuta in Ikorodu; Lagos State of Nigeria already has branches in Isawo, Shagamu road, Estate, Eyita (all in Ikorodu); Akute, Ijoko (both in Ogun State) Shangisha and ketu (Lagos State).
